Changes at Condominium Law Group

Dear Board Member clients and Community Association Managers,

Summer brings change to our communities and your business partners. We want to update you on changes happening at Condominium Law Group, PLLC.

On July 5, 2016, Theresa Torgesen, Stephen Smith, and Rachel Burkemper left our employment to open their own practice. One of the stated reasons was that they wish to expand the scope of their representation beyond community associations.

Condominium Law Group has been dedicated to representing community associations for over 16 years now.  We continue to be capable and competent to serve your needs, and will continue to do so with our existing attorneys and legal staff. We will supplement our existing team with additional attorneys to serve our clients as needed.

To continue receiving the same level of service you have come to expect from us, you need not do anything. Collection matters have already been reassigned and will continue as before. Ken Harer, the owner and managing partner, will personally deal with general legal matters Theresa was working on. We have a computerized system for all matters in our office that tracks needed tasks. The practice management software allows any attorney to reference all emails, documents, and upcoming tasks, so the transition should be seamless for you.

You will likely receive from Theresa Torgesen, Stephen Smith, and Rachel Burkemper a letter and a form requesting your signature directing us to transfer legal matters to them.  To allow Condominium Law Group to continue to represent you or your associations, you need not do anything. But, we will transfer a client file to any attorney at any time if directed to do so by our client. Such requests must come directly from a client, and be in writing.

Our primary interest is service to our clients. The service and expertise you received from Rachel, Theresa and Stephen is a direct result of Condolaw’s corporate philosophies, legal staff, expertise, and training. The methods these attorneys used are the methods of Condominium Law Group. We continue to have six other attorneys in the office, and a complete staff of paralegals and assistants to serve your needs. You need not do anything in order for us to continue to serve you.

We are sorry to see our attorney colleagues leave our firm, and wish them the best of luck in their new endeavors. If you have questions or concerns about the changes, or what you or your clients need to do, please contact me at ken@condolaw.net, or contact Gil Price, Executive Director, at executivedirector@condolaw.net. Gil can also be contacted by cell from Monday – Sunday from 9am – 9pm at 206-234-5898.

Thank you for your continued business and we look forward to seeing you at a future WA State Community Associations Institute event.

Ken Harer, BA, BFA, MBA, JD, LLM, member of the College of Community Association Lawyers, and the entire Condominium Law Group Team
